My name is Ray-Anne. Welcome to my site and thank you for taking the time to read this. I consider it a compliment that you want to know more about me.


I live in Muizenberg - a Southern suburb of Cape Town, South Africa - with my hubby and two beautiful boys Ethan (nearly 4) and Luke (six months).


Through the years I have worn many hats - that of Soldier, Tour Guide, Travel desk Coordinator, Personal Assistant, Financial Administrator, Internet Researcher and Stay-at-home Mom. The latter being the most challenging and demanding - believe it or not :-)

I am so thankful to the Lord for all circumstances in my life - good and bad - because these all brought me right here.

To this point in my life.

I never liked the idea of going to work and leaving my children with someone else for 8 - 10 hours every day.

Whose values, beliefs and character will rub off on them? - Mine, who spend 2 of their waking hours with them?

Or the caregiver / teacher I leave them with for 8 - 10 hours?

You do the math.


To cut a long story short - the desire was there but I only finally took that step of faith to stay at home when my employer was placed under curatorship.

I left the financial services industry and sacrificed my career (a sacrifice I'll gladly make again for my children!)

and so started my frugal journey.

As I got more and more "into" it, a passion for all things frugal developed....

and it is still constantly evolving.

I can only give God all the glory, for He alone is "Jehovah Jireh" - My provider. He has placed not only the desire in my heart to be at home with and home school my children but also gave me the tools to do so.
